Ever since I was a teenager, my favorite spring clothing piece has always been the trench coat. I’m not even kidding. I love trench coats for spring, and spring trench coats in plus sizes are even better. For years, buying coats was a freakin’ hassle for me because I have bigger arms. Nowhere made cute coats in my size, so either stuffed myself into them like a sausage (and ended up never wearing the coats because they were too small) or just forgoing on cute outerwear all together. Even in the last few years, there are finally coats that are available in extended sizes that are actually stylish. Now, I can live my trench coat dreams.
From the classic trench coat to ones with a little more color and flare, there are several different trench varieties available in plus sizes right now. Trench coats are, in my opinion, the perfect outerwear for spring because they’re so versatile, but always seem to pull an outfit together. Unlike bulky winter coats, trench coats don’t hide your outfit—they accentuate it. I think everyone looks good in a trench coat, and I fully believe everyone should own (at least) one—unless you’re a flasher who hides their naked body under a trench coat. Please don’t do that.
