While corduroy is a great option for every season (yes, even spring and summer!), it has a special place in colder months—and now that the temperatures are finally cooling off, it’s time to stock up on all the plus-size corduroy clothing the world has to offer. I can still remember going through puberty and feeling like corduroy was the worst possible thing I could have ever put on my body. Now, though, my tune has changed, and I am obsessed with all the latest corduroy pieces. In my opinion, nothing looked good on me in middle school—especially corduroy—so you know this recent all-season obsession with my formerly-least-favorite fabric means the newest offerings are actually good.
Seriously, 2020’s corduroys are nothing like what you wore in middle school. I mean, it probably helps that I’m no longer going through puberty, but I can’t help but feel like today’s corduroy options are so much better than they have been in the past. Brands have found a way to make plus-size corduroy clothes actually look chic enough to wear to a nice dinner or even as an addition to sleek workwear outfit.
Previously, I thought corduroys were only for snowy days or when my elementary school let us switch out of our summer khakis for something a little more winter-friendly. Never would I have thought that I’d actually want to own myriad pairs of corduroy pants, some corduroy tops—and even corduroy dresses.
To get a peek at the glorious plus-size corduroy clothing available in this, the year 2020, take a gander at some of my favorites below. From corduroy pants classic enough to wear cute tops and cozy sweaters to corduroy button downs that you’ll want to pair with all your leggings, these corduroy clothing options might just leave your middle school self shook.
