I know it’s cooling off in certain parts of the United States, but in good old Los Angeles, the temperatures remain in the 80s. Sure, it’s the life I’ve chosen to live, but that doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it. Figuring out how to create chic plus-size fall outfits while the weather is still hot has proven to be a challenge—but one I’m willing to face if it means wearing fall hues and embracing the best season of the year. My autumnal wardrobe has always been my favorite part of fall, but ever since I moved to Los Angeles, half of it doesn’t get used until the end of the year. (And by that time, I’m pretty much ready to wear holiday garb, anyway.) Even when I was living in Nashville, Tennessee, the weather didn’t cool off until November, so I was constantly trying to figure out how to make fall clothes wearable in the heat. As I shop now, however, I look for pieces that remind me of fall, but are definitely cool enough to wear when the weather is unbearably warm. I’m here to tell you that finding plus-size fall outfits you can wear while it’s hot outside is possible—and I’ve got the photos to prove it.
Below, you’ll find four different fall-appropriate plus-size outfits that won’t leave you over-heating. From breezy wide-leg pants to short-sleeve button downs in fall hues, these plus-size fall outfits are sure to keep you cool—both literally and figuratively. The best thing about so many of these pieces, too, is the fact that you can easily layer them when the chill finally hits. Just add your favorite denim jacket or over-the-knee boots for an extra layer of warmth. Until then, however, these outfits will make sure you look good and feel good all fall long.
